If I play a clip from toaster edit and then cue a ddr from a fire wire HD or a scsi and cue it. when switching everthing is fine but if I leave the ddr running the same time the toaster edit is playing the ddr stutters as if it seems it cannot play the clip but if you stop edit it plays fine, any ideas ?

The speed of a firewire drive is probably not sufficient to stream uncompressed video. That said, I do it regularly. The real key is all of the hardware in between the drive and your output. The harddrive is one factor, the device that houses the drive, and the firewire interface with the computer. Big opportunities for slowness at every juncture.

If I play the video from a scsi drive ultra 160 and a video from an ultra 320 the toaster it still has a problem with playback, but if I stop the toaster edit ddr plays back fine or visavera, cannot play 2 vids from 2 different drives
