View Full Version : Character Deformation - Scene Loading

Hello all,

i am currently trying to animate a character i made. I have been following a tutorial about how to add bones and adding IK.

But i have came across a major problem, when i record a new pivot rotation for some of the bones, the character becomes very twisted and deformed when the scene is saved and re-loaded.

Can anyone help please!!!

Majority of the times, if you have a character with bones, and the character is "misaligned" or looked twisted up, your bones need to be rested (keyboard shortcut: r )

Make sure, when you create characters, you have a rest pose in your timeline. This is usually at frame 0, but sometimes people use negative frames to store poses. A rest pose is where the bones are not deforming anything and your model looks exactly the way you modeled it.

So go to frame 0, select all your bones, and press 'r'.

When you use some of the bone tools the bone is deactived and needs to be rerested.
