if you want to get rid of the bone problems, do a favor to yourself and get "Maestro" . Maestro is a rig and master control plugin and it has ready made skeletons that u can use, and its very easy to set up the skeleton to the character, dont mention the advatages in animation. and you learn it like nothing . 5 stars plugin.

Some free alternatives to get you over the first hurdles.

http://members.shaw.ca/LightWavetutorials/character_anime.htm (esp. look at Protons videos provided through NT; Lots of other good ones too I'm sure.)

Simple rigger is a free and easy to use auto rigger, it's old but should still work, look it up at Flay.com.

or you can hire ILM, they cost around $50,000 per second of finished footage i hear!

or... watch proton rig up a character in his vids from newtek's 24+ hours of free video tutorials

Ai, i got a tutorial from my lightwave's bible tutorial website it worked really well.
The best way to add bones is through layout. XD

Well, to put it a little simpler, Layout is the only way to apply bones. Of course you can draw skelegons in Modeler, but it's not quite the same.

Maestro is definitely a good buy. With it, it's like LW is an entire new program. It's also onyl $150.
