Title sums it up.

From the web it seems Newtek doesn't have a trial for Lw out anymore?
Why is that?

Itīs not decided yet, but they (Newtek) are considering charging 24$ for it. You can then download Williamīs videos for free ;)

Because NT's customers tend to be the only ones who care about gaining new customers, it seems NT themselves really don't care about there marketing efforts or porn on forums. You often wonder why we care about LW, when NT don't seem to want to sell it at all.

At this rate you would likely need to pay customers $24 to try LW, rather than vice versa.

Yeah, the 24$ thing is a bad idea! They should be trying to LW into as many hands as possible...

It's $25 not $24.

I just don't understand why, while every 3d app out there has a free 30 days trial version, Lw has not one anymore?

Just why did they retire it ? :thumbsdow

NT ! do something !!! :twak:

p.s. Modo 25$ for vids and demo wasn't a good choice either, haha but at least u can get somethinng if u want.

I am teaching Lightwave now and have a couple students who have been interested in the trial version. They finally gave up and have been using Blender! We just finished out the 5th week of class. (3 hour classes)

Normally, I have them play with the discovery version and try the trial version in the first couple weeks. This way they could figure out if they want it by the end of the class.

They are still interested (maybe just a little) and would like to try the trial version, but they can't find a way. PLease help!!!!

Thanks

BeeVee and NT Europe do a good job of making sure the latest demo is available, (9.2) it's just NT-US that is slack about it, let's hope a new 9.5 demo is made available when released, from beta.

Ah, the looming "Recession" maybe? ; hence, purchasing power is just pissing in the wind.

-It's been down here since at least December 07 but locally no problem obtaining the product itself.

I think people had problems doing it this way.

Go to the thread link I posted above, the direct links to the 'official' 9.3.1 release are there.

It doesnt show up in europe either.

I found the link on this forum to try it out myself much to the surprise of Newtek Europe. ;)
If that link had not been here I would have been the proud owner of another competing application for my animation.

Cheers
