What I wanted was Mimic Pro but the version on sale I don't think can be used with Lightwave. I know these things are not perfect but they do give a head start.

No I don't think you can, they have the lightwave plugin version for $200 if you are a platinum club member. To use the one thats $39, you need to be able to import poser files, so you need poser, Daz Studio (free) or Carrara 6

Mimic Pro for LightWave has some issues with LW 9.3.1, not looked too deeply into it, I tried it last night and it crashed as soon as I started Mimic Pro. There is a thread on it on the DAZ forums about the problem. I know it works okay with LW 9.2 though I will check it when 9.5 is released.

Is that price for platinum members a temporary sale or will that always be about the price for platinum members?

The date on my order was 1/24/08 but it was a higher price. Roughly $100 more.
Still a good deal compared to the full price.

Hopefully you can pick it up quicker than me. Took a while to figure out how to paint on the object and have it appear on the uv. Talk about work arounds. I think reading Steve Warner's tutorial helped me the most so far.

How's the manual Silk? Good read or stereo instructions?

From what I have seen it is more like a basic tutorial.

ZBrush is definitely a great tool to have in your arsenal. I love just "doodling" in it to be honest. I've owned it since version 1.23... got it for under 200 bucks, and free upgrades since then. One purchase I am so glad I made.

Yeah I wanted mimic too. I was just going platinum when thankfully andywright proved it that its not ay LW plugin.

Hi,

Thank you for the scoop. I have bought zbrush a few minutes ago. But why don't I have the downloadable version? I thing they ship to me(14.95$) but there is not in the download windows.
