But 9.5 isn't out yet, so sit tight and when it is it will replace the last beta that was posted. i.e. 9.3.1.

'Will'...not 'is'...just one small word implies that it's a future thing that's going to happen. I have to admit I read over it and English is my native language...so easy to speed read over that when you're all excited :D

It all just means that they've geared up web-wise for the release, which hopefully means things will go smoothly when the gate is opened :D

Now I'm cooled off a bit.

By the way, there's a hidden link on your registration downloads page that's colored white so you can't find it easily. It's just underneath the "Content Addendum" download link. Don't tell me I'm the only one who's downloaded the 9.5 release.

I found it by going through the source code of the page, it's impossible to find otherwise.

... 9.5 is only for true beta-tester downloadable, usual customer have to wait till early march till they can get a bugy pre release of lightwave, called "Open-Beta"

Your reference ? Unless you mean woody (which I took as its obvious meaning) but could mean Woody out of Toy Story ? :)

The biggest joke is the fact that there is no 9.5 beta. Never was.

No, that's a joke too.

I think.

Surrealist.
03-06-2008, 02:43 PM
shawn,

I just didn't think of sporting wood as an 80's reverence though. I guess I am not an 80's geek. So what is the reference?

Steamthrower
03-06-2008, 02:50 PM
I always considered myself as retro a nerd as there was (I mean, born in the 80's, avid lover of text adventures, Hitchhiker's, etc) but I didn't get that reference either.

DragonFist
03-06-2008, 02:56 PM
It's a line from the 1986 movie "Short Circuit" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091949/)

I'll see if anyone remembers the context now.

I saw that movie many times, but I cannot think of the context, I remember him trying to explain to #5 his woody reaction to the lead female. But it's been a while.

DragonFist
03-06-2008, 03:34 PM
When the main character comes back from seeing the female character, his sidekick with the hindi accent is very excited to know how it went.

He says, "Come. You must tell me everything. Right now, I am sporting a tremendous woody!"

I can't have been the only geek teenager that found that hilarious. (At the time "females" were mysterious and unreachable. Things have changed after 19 years of marriage and two kids later.)

I would have thought it to be one of those iconic lines from a movie such as this.

Ya, I rember that line, Short Circut was a great movie! Great Line!:D

Philbert
03-06-2008, 06:09 PM
Great film. I would also like to point out that the female character was played by the excellent Ally Sheedy, AKA "that emo chick from The Breakfast Club"

DragonFist
03-06-2008, 06:32 PM
I agree. Great film. The sequel didn't match it but the first one was one of those rare finds that's truly entertaining for the whole family -- kids and adults alike. It was no ET; but it was no "Pokemon - The Movie" either (ack, I had a painful flashback of that movie typing the name. Glad my kid has gotten past his pokemon fasination.)

I've got to dust off the VCR and pull out the old vhs I have somewhere of that movie.

Best,

Shawn

BTW, Phil. I notice your from Philly. I'm currently in East Falls, Philly for work. I like the town.

Ah! A friend of mine lived in East Falls years ago. I'm technically not in the city. I grew up in Chestnut Hill, but now I'm about 20 mins north in Lansdale.
