Hi All, :help:

Im in a bit of a bind ive just been sent 2 files one is in .PLY format and one in .QS format. Ive had a look and these are vrml type files or landscape data files.

Anyone know of convertors or a way to get these into lightwave without to much agony. They also come with textures and theres a skip load of them.

I can just see this is going to be a nightmare. Any help would be greatly apprieciated.

Regards, John

QS seem to be QSplat files: http://graphics.stanford.edu/software/qsplat/

I remember a decent converter/viewer that at least supports PLY, I'll just need to find the link...

Here we go, Meshlab: http://meshlab.sourceforge.net/

Cheers,
Mike

Thanks alot moosedog and lightwolf i knew someone in this great community would come to the rescue. I will give them a try.

I have blender and did not even know that it imported ply files. I will try meshlab for the qs files.

I will try meshlab for the qs files.
Actually, I don't think it supports .qs - but it certainly handles .ply.

Cheers,
Mike
