i would do this:

after saving all your content, uninstall the versions you want. and manually, if need be, delete all those config files in docs and setts.

re-install the version you want.

before! opening either modeler or layout, create a folder in your install folder named "Config". then....right-click on the desktop shortcut for modeler and choose properties. then edit the file path in the little box for the executable appending :

-c"yourdirectoryletter:\yourinstallfoldername\Config" to the end.

in my case its:

-c"G:\Lightwave931\Config"

so the entire line looks like (in my case):

G:\Lightwave931\Programs\modeler.exe -c"G:\Lightwave931\Config"

rinse and repeat for the layout shortcut.

then fire up modeler, then fire up layout both from the shortcut.

this creates your config files in dedicated folders. this way you can have, say, ten versions installed with no confusion of config files piling up on top on one another in docs and setts, as each version has a dedicated folder for its own configs. if you looked at my docs and setts, you wouldn't see any! lw config files :).

good luck:thumbsup:
