I posted this in the middle of another thread and I think it got lost. I was wondering how the resolutions are converted when the Program Out is put through the VGA Out. Specifically, our projectors support 1024x768. If we load graphics/videos that are in that higher resolution, will Toaster convert everything down and then upscale it back for the VGA out or will it actually output the original resolution to the VGA out.

Thanks,

Matthew

It depends on what you do with the video.

If you route the iVGA feed through one of the VT's buses, then yes, it will be scaled to SD, to be mixed with other SD video feeds.

If you send iVGA out directly though the VGA control panel, or key it with the VGA keyer on that panel, then it doesn't get scaled down - but it also doesn't get recorded if you are recording to your hard drive, or recording the video output of the VT - it only goes to the VGA output.
