Is there a way to control reflection colors using a map in lightwave ? The reflection control in the texture editor allows me to use a map to define what is reflective and what is not, but it does not seem to let me tint various parts of the reflection using a map. Is there a way to to this using the node editor ? Can someone describe what nodes i would need to connect and how to get that setup ?

In ordinary layers, use "Colored Highlights" on the advanced tab. This will tint the reflections and specular highlights using the diffuse color.

In Nodal, it's a piece of cake to do it properly. Add a Reflection node (Shaders -> Reflection -> Reflections) and a map of whatever kind. Plug the map into the Color input of the Reflections node and turn on "Tint Reflections," then plug the Reflections' Color output into the Reflection Shading input of the surface.
