I opened (in Notepad) a very simple .obj file exported from Modeler, and didn't see any indication that the morph I had made in Modeler was included in the exported .obj.

It was a simple cube, and the morph had a face of the cube moved and rotated. It had the list of vertices, and the list of faces, but nothing else. Anyone know why the morph isn't included ?

it was not included because it's an Obj.

If you want to include the morph you'll have to save as Lwo or you could try Fbx.

If you need to import the morph into a different app that does not allow importing Lwo or Fbx files with morphs you'll have to save the morph as a separate Obj file.

Yeah, OBJ only lists the vertex and facet data as they are at the time of export.
In LW, a morph is a form of vertex map which indicates a difference in the geometry between the original and any other morphs. Just like selection sets, weight maps and UV's, that data is saved as part of the LWO file.
OBJ will save the vertex groups and the UV's, plus of course any material assignments, but not morph maps.
