In theory, you should be able to follow the instructions at the NewTek Europe link in my signature. Some folks reported problems with the downloads not showing up. If that's the case, reply back here and I can post the direct download links from the download server.

Or find someone who owns the lightwave and install it. Without dongle it will run in Discovery mode, which is pretty much like a demo version.

If you install a version from someone else's CD you can register it as a trial version and have 30 days full use from it before it goes to Discovery mode.

Hi Phil. Thanks for your reply. I tried both links. The first link says that the updating page is in process and to try again later. The 2nd page were instructions to follow in order to obtain the download. I followed the instructions and I did not receive the page to enable me the download. I've enclosed a jpeg screen shot of the page I was given. Can you give me the direct link you mentioned? Thanks a lot for your help Phil.

Apparently the free trial is no longer available for now. Thats the information I got from Newtek Europe before I purchased Lightwave.

Win32 : ftp://lw9download:[email protected]/lw9.3.1_win32.zip
Mac (PPC) : ftp://lw9download:[email protected]/lw9.3.1_mac32.zip
Mac (UB) : ftp://lw9download:[email protected]/lw9.3.1_macUB.zip

Sorry for the delay. NT needs to wake up.

Hey, thanks alot Phil. That was real nice of you. Do you know if I can save out files on this trial version, and if the file will transfer over to the 8.5 version? Thanks again.

The trial edition is complete in every way, just limited to only 30 days, and no commercial plugins (no dongle for them to hook to).

Thanks Bevee. I appreciate it. Oh, and can you tell me what the Sentinental Proctection thing was that was also installed with my program, and its purpose?

It's the driver for the dongle. I would think that although you have no dongle you still need to install it because LightWave needs it to run.

I believe the student version is $195. If you want the full apps with no app limitation.
