View Full Version : Free Plugin: Set Scale v1.2 (Update)

02-28-2008, 06:36 PM
Hi all

I've updated my 'Set Scale' plugin to allow the user to select whether the 'LW Measured Distance' is true XYX to XYZ, or the difference in X, Y or Z only, which is useful if you know the true distance in those axis but don't have points in perfect alignment to pick from (see image for more detail).

Now you can pick any two points and scale without the hassle.

The plugin actually allows more than one point to be picked (so you can select points quite sloppily, and using a single click in one viewport) but only takes the coords from the first and last points selected.

Also made the gadget descriptions a little clearer.

Hope you find it useful! As usual the code is not compiled and fully commented to help those new to LScript.

That's pretty cool! This would be a great tool to use if you need to size up objects to a specific size that are off axis already. I'm sure there are other useful things for it also!

Thanks SS!!!

I use this on almost every project thanks so much and for the update! :bowdown:

so do I see some updates to modeler - origin and center of mass perhaps?

Nah, that's been there from day one:

bounding_box_centre = center(boundingbox());

I missed out the 'Measurement Axis' in the 'store()' and 'recall()' functions that keep your last used settings. Only a small change but is fixed now.

Hmm, Matt was the SecretSquirrel and had access to LW9.5 closed beta so I guess LW 10 will have his interface. :)

I'm using this one more and more. much appreciated!

Thanks Matt, I'm thing about integrating it in to my work flow from here on out. Basically getting the CAD/dxf files imported in, to match LW's measurements.

Cool that's what I use it for, and precise scaling, works wonderfully, but I would say that!
