Anyone know a place to go for a tutorial on how to make a t-rex? Or any other kind of dinosaur?

The latest issue of 3D World magazine has a massive 21-page tutorial on just this topic + 7 hours of video tutorials to go with it!

I think that issue also has a free copy of luxology's ImageSynth...

A former teacher of mine used to refer to a “Jurassic Park” button somewhere in 3DStudioMax, but I don’t know if LightWave has something comparable. 

Yeah .. LW had TWO of those buttons. One was called "Eagle in a Barrel", the other was called "Cow". I'd take a cow over a T-Rex any day.

Wow! Yes, it does!! So you get a £50 plug-in for £6. Pretty good value, I'd say.

:agree: I'm not sure if it's out in the states yet, but I'm going to try to pick mine up this weekend!

Well, I purchased a copy of 3D World and got my hands on the imageSynth plugin - it's pretty cool, unlike the rest of 3D World. I have to say that I didn't find anything in the content of the magazine that would persuade me to restart my subscription. It still seems to be trotting out the same tired uninspiring articles that finally persuaded me a couple of years ago to cancel my yearly subscription.

So what inspired, exciting articles should they be doing?

Yeah, what indeed?!!

I think the whole problem is that the more we learn the more challenging the content is forced to need to be. I do think that occasionally an advanced tutorial would be nice, though I find what's currently there informative to some degree!!
