i have downloaded and installed both and i dont really see any issues..

i know fprime isnt UB yet but is that all ?

does the UB take advantage of the RAM and proc more so ?

The UB is compiled as a Universal Binary in XCode. It basically has two complete versions of object code built-in that run natively on PPC and Intel Macs, attaining maximum speed on both platforms. The PPC only version is still being compiled from the older discontinued Code Warrior (as far as I know) and it only runs native on PPC Macs. It runs through Rosetta translation when run on Intel based Macs.

The PPC only version is still compatible with older ".p" plugins, which is probably why it's still being produced. To give plugin developers time to move their plugins up to the UB version.

The UB version needs newer ".plugin" plugins, specifically compiled for the UB.

If you are running on an Intel based Mac, then the UB will be significantly faster at rendering. If you are running on a PPC based Mac, then you may not notice much difference between the two, depending upon what you're doing...
