My copy of C4D has got to go. XL version 9.5, plus Hair and MoGraph modules…

curious why you're parting with it...

it seems to enjoy a wide user base, seems to be a contender in the 3D world, and isn't it wise to have several 3D options in the toolkit, where money allows?

just curious..I myself can only support 1 app at the mo...

For the same reason as you: I was running C4D, LW and Modo - plus Photoshop and After Effects - and just can't justify the cost of Maxon's updates any more.

To be honest, I never really got on with the procedural workflow. If I wanted to model anything, I could just do it faster in LW. The Hair module is brilliant, but I never found a reason to use it.

So, anyway, it's going.

for the same reason i never upgraded my old 8.5 copy... btw. upgrade pricing from 9.5 XL to 10.5 XL is 555 EUR... the problem with maxon pricing is that loyal but less upgrade willing customers aren't getting nearly any bonus when upgrading after some time... so you have to go with each upgrade or in the end you will pay like a new license for it. not very friendly.

unfortunately, for c4d vray on mac you need at least version 10.x, so no chance here... no problem for the windows version 9.6, though.

Dammit. Due to fraudulent use of an ebayer's account, my C4D is now back up for sale.

It's the perfect accompaniment to LW if you're serious about motion graphics or hairy objects.

Please take a look here…

Can C4D's camera be mathched to LWs? And can it import mdds?

Not natively, I'm afraid. However, it does an excellent job of exporting to AE if that's any help (if only LW's was as good!)

There is a free MDD importer plug-in but it's Windows only.

To be honest, I never really got on with the procedural workflow

Me neither, _too_ ordered for me, more like a CAD package than a visualisation package, there's a fine balance between free form modelling and CAD like modelling. Not sure anyone has done it quite right yet.
