View Full Version : Bones, Bone Tools and CC-SubD

I'm rigging my first Character ever and am boning it in Layout. I find the Joint move and Tip move tools really handy, but my Layout also crashes allot when I use them. The same with Draw Child bone. Mostly it happens when I Undo something.

I'm working with a Model using CC-SubDs. Could that be an issue? I have noticed, CC-SubDs not only slowdown Modeler, it also Slows down Layout aswell. I keep the Layout Sub-D lvl at 0-1 and render at 3-4. CC is nice I must say, but I also have allot crashes with that.

If you have weight maps make sure you don't have not set vertexes.. CC have broken vmap interpolation..

I have weightmaps for the bones and others for texturing. What do you exactly mean? Sorry, no offense, I just don't get what you mean.

VMap can be: mapped (have some value), unmapped (no value at all, even 0.0). If CC has unmapped vmaps bone displacement is broken. Old non-CC Sub-Patch didn't need it to work properly.

See - half of wolf doesn't have any value - and that would make problem with CC..
But there are some vmaps with value 0.0.
Making whole wolf with value 0.0 for all unmapped vertices will workarround CC problem..

Oh I didn't know that. I'll remap my Weights then. Thx for the hint :)

Should teh crashes stop then btw?
