Hi everyone, I'm new to Lightwave.

My other software is ZBrush. I've got a lot of models in OBJ format which I want to import into Lightwave. I've loaded several plugins OK. I found the plugin Conv3d and ran it and, in theory, I should have 12 plugins, 6 to export and 6 to import. The export ones are all there but no sign of the import ones. I've been on to Sylvia at technical support but she can't help me. Anyone out there know of another plugin or workaround that will allow me to import OBJs? Thanks in anticipation.

You should be able to import OBJs out the box as it were.

Well, actually, in LW it's not even termed as 'import'. You should be able to 'load object' as you would normally, but just select an OBJ instead of a standard LWO.

ZBrush should require no external plugins either as far as I am aware.
I could very well be wrong though - I don't use it often enough for my liking!

Good luck Dude.

My workflow is as follows:

Get an obj from ZBrush or Max user.
Open it as a normal object in Lightwave.
Save as a Lightwave object while editing.
Export as obj when done.
Provide obj back to ZBrush or Max user.

Option step: Feel sorry for the poor bastard for using Max in the first place.

Option step? That just might be the most important one.... x]

all the other steps mentioned are necessary...feeling sorry for max users is an option, as is mocking them if you are a less caring person....personally, i refuse any contact with max users after hearing that they hate kittens.
