Hi All,

I'm considering purchasing Random cloner from http://www.polas.net/plugins/cloner.php

I was wondering if there was anything else out there just as good (and free)
available for the MAC. I have found another called Scatter but its INTEL only.

Anybody own Random cloner and want to give me a mini review, it seems rather old now, does it work with 9+

thanks

i didn't find anything similiar to fill a volume with instances. runs fine on LW 9.3.1 PPC. unfortunately, the developer told me he won't develop any UB version...

Evasion's MeshPaint might suit your needs. I don't think any of there plugs have done UB though...

the difference is that meshpaint does distribute instances in many ways on surfaces, but random cloner can fill any shape or volume with other geometry. i cannot find any other tool doing this, at least on macs. so it depends if you are looking for this specific feature or others. have a look at pictrix tools, too: http://www.pictrix.jp/lw/index_1.html - especially cp_clone.

Last I hear he wasn't even planning on supporting his plugins any more?

yep, that's that's the info i got as well... i guess he is more busy as an artist than as a developer. great '07 demoreel, on his site btw.
