hi.

does anyone know if there is a simple way to create a graduated weight map.

for instance, if i have a long tube object and want to set up a map such that it ranges from a value of 100 at the top to a value of 0 at the bottom, is there a simple and fast way to do this other that selecting loops of points and setting values?

thanks,

harvey

If you would have TrueArt's Modeling Pack http://modelingpack.trueart.eu with VMapManager you could paint weight map in f.e. Photoshop and import weight map as image..

First make sure and clear any map values you have on the map with Clear Map command then use the Weights tool set to Linear in the numeric panel. Right click drag to set the region in a viewport or use the XYZ axis buttons on the panel. Set Change level to 100% and click Apply.
