Hi everybody, I was wondering if anyone knows a fairly simple way to create the matrix like ripples behind bullets?

This was done in LW on the opening shots of Star Trek Voyager (flying thru the HV clouds), altho the clouds were visable before the ship moved them and they circled back around so this might be a way to go (just make transparent untill bullet came into proximity of the pionts then transparency drops to 0 and slowly goes to transparent again after a certain time) most likely expressions are the way to go.

Else the easiest way..

make yer bullet
make a same sized cylinder parented to bullet
in layout make cyl transparent and dissolved
animate bullet
when bullet passes by camera undissolve cyl bu still unseen (transparency) and give it some wave distortion in direction of bullet travel with a high refraction value.
It will look like air behind bullet is sort of solid as it refracts everything behind transparent cyl and the waves of distortion in cyl will give a moving look.

best advice I can come up with in 5 min
