Hi,

This is a petition, so hopefully NewTek will see and listen to all those Linux users starving for a version of LightWave for that platform.

Please sign by posting a reply and by the poll.

Thanks!

The lack of a Linux version of LW is most definitely not due to NewTek being unaware of the demand.

As much as I'd love to see it, as I'm moving more to Linux...I think LW has some major issues to overcome as it is, and adding another platform to support would possibly be anti-useful to the rest of LW development, at least at the moment.

How about optimized builds Jarno? One thing i like about Blender and Houdini, both on Windows and Linux is the enhanced versions they offer SSE/SSE2/SSE3 or GCC3.xx, GCC4.xx, VC8, VC9, etc...

Is LW currently optimized compiler wise for the latest stuff? Or are we using a more safe compatible option?

I have only ever seen one report of it working with wine ,not tried but imagine the dongle would be a nightmare ......+1 for Linux

Lightwave is the only reason I have a windows install. Lightwave for linux would make me want to upgrade to 10 immediately. I have gotten discovery mode to work very well in wine, there are several things that are lacking, but it does work. Just doesn't detect the dongle like online render said.
