Im working in pal 16:9 and I cant seem to get my graphics to work correctly with cg designer,

I have tried exporting a png file at 1024 x 576 (square pix) resolution, It is a basic lower third graphic, But when add file in cg, it doesnt seem to fit? I have also tried different sizes but cant get it to work? ie 720 x 576 non- square pix?

For PAL try 720x576 with a pixel aspect of 1.422

NTSC 720x486 pixel aspect 1.185

I am using PAL and I have tried 720x576 with a pixel aspect of 1.422,

I am using a PNG test with a circle and transparent BG, and the circle seems to come out as an oval?
I will be using a number of different logo's on the title graphics in cg designer during a live production and I don't want them to squish. Is there a better way to do this??

Those should be the correct numbers. I bet CG designer is trying to be helpful and scale your image for NTSC. It wouldn't really surprise me if it didn't properly support PAL. Anyone from NewTek want to chime in?

Are you checking this on a real video monitor?
