Hi - Does Anyone know a good way to record a telephone with the VT4 or 5. I have both if one is better than the other. Right Now I take a sensitive mic and tape just outside the telephone speaker. It does ok but not the greatest. When I use the Radio Shack inline record/play devices that go between the cradle and handset unit it is too noisy- I get major hum.

I've tried tearing a phone apart and directly running the speaker lead into an XLR adapter and that is noisy as well. I tried the same method into RCA, but same problem. I put diodes between the connections and that cleaned it up a bit, but still too much hum.

Or is there a phone with RCA jacks out that anyone knows of.

Last I want to be able to play items off of the VT4/5 back into the phone. I have a client that wants to pre-record his phone conversations and then play them back to an audience. Right now I just put a pair of headphones right up to the mic of the phone and it works ok, but I'd like to do better.

thanks
-Larry

I think you want to be in the VT forums, not Lightwave.
