Hi,

I am looking at getting a video called Secrets of Organic Modelling by Taron. (its my christmas present ) and I was after opinions about its suitability for a somewhat novice modeller.

I taught myself modelling from online tutorials and books and find many of the video tutorials leave me saying "What did he do! " and rewinding :D

I am after something that explains in good detail just what and why things are being done .

Any suggestions ?

it's a really nice video but it doesn't really hold your hand thru everything..it's more akin to being in the same room as a top notch 3d modeler guru [taron is de man!] and your looking over their shoulder as he tells you all his secrets on how to make a cool head as an example of how to sub d model.

if you see what i mean!

good vid for sure though..and it's short..he models sooooooo fast!

If you are interested in something that is quite detailed and comes with online support try this:

you could also download / purchase one chapter to see if you like it before getting the others:
