Hello Lightwavers !

I have been looking around for some A to Z tutorials for building a battleship.

Does anybody have some links or urls where to look at ?

I found a few in maya, but none so for that explains how to do one in lightwave.

Many thnx :thumbsup:

Battleships aren't really curvaceous so all you need is a blueprint from;

but for hulls which are you will need to look into "spline patches".

- The rule is for patching splines is the same as for polygons; you have to have at least three splines but better four... 4 as in 2 parallel and 2 perpendicular and hit ctrl F to patch the faces in between: ctrl p to make a curve between end/start points.

With hulls you basically make a spline set-up which resembles the way you would build it out of wood... remember that "splines" originally came from Naval Architecture!

... you can mirror or cut and paste splines, connect them at the ends using ctrl p and then select in order... the 2 short sides first (perpendicular) then the long sides ( parallel) then ctrl f to patch.
