View Full Version : Texturing a cove background

I have created a cove with a curved back going into a flat floor, for a background.
I am trying to texture this with a design though I get distortion where the flat area starts to cure up.

I have tried a UV map but I stil cannot get an even texture from the flat floor to the curved back.

Although I'm sure your description fits exactly what you are seeing in your minds eye at the moment, it would seem to be quite vague to me. I "think" I may understand what you are trying to accomplish, but mostly ... not.

Could you post a wire of your model and the texture sample of what you are trying to accomplish ?

This is a screen grab of the cove.
The texture runs okay on the flat bit but at it curves there is distortion.

If you uv map it while it's flat and then bend it you should be good.

Yup. What Hunter said.

The simplest thing to do since it's already bent is to create a morph, flatten the thing, then make your UV map with a planar map on whatever axis it is lying on, bing, bang, badda boom you done. You can delete the morph once the map is created. You don't need it anymore.
