Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if there is a way to create actual 3d geometry with an image map in lightwave? Or how to apply 3d textures on surfaces in Lightwave? I know its possible in other 3D packages but I would eb interested if there is a way to do it in lightwave.

Vielen Dank!

Welcome to the LightWave community. :)

You can create 3D geometry from images and procedurals.

Try a search for Displacement Maps, Normal Maps, Textured Displacement and you'll find some threads.

Also look at the videos in the LW 9 training section under APS. There is some useful information there regarding this.

Besides those options, there are some free plugins allowing you to do this in modeler. Search the plugin database on http://www.flay.com .
