Hi everybody. I am new here in the Netherlands, working on my own projects at the moment. Are here some guys with Lightwave or Motionbuilder experience?
Or a usergroup, or a meeting, or funny and creative people, or......

We (mostly me) use LW in our studio (House of Secrets (http://www.houseofsecrets.nl)), Toonafish (http://www.toonafish.nl/) used to use LW (not sure if they still do), Lemonade (http://www.lemonade.nl) is/was a LW studio (they switched some work over to Maya though)

There's probably more (didn't PlanetFX use LW aswell?)

I sometimes brows the NewTek Europe (http://www.newtek-europe.com/uk/index.asp) forum, and I have seen at least one member named Druitre from Amsterdam on there. There maybe others as well. Here is a link to some of his work. Jasper Scheepbouwer (europe.com/uk/community/lightwave/scheepbouwer/1.htm)

yeah although venlo is about 30 minutes from where i live i'd rather meet in Utrecht if it means there would actually be people coming. Ergo.. lets meet in central holland.

Ergo, i heard that word on tv and its hella cool (as is hella) ;)

druitre
01-25-2008, 06:36 AM
Central holland? Poldering along, as we dutch are wont to do. Looking for a place betwixt one extreme and the other, more equiprobable than not leaving all in a state of unmitigated hankering.

But: I'll concede, on the venture that our vehicle of linguistic transfer on said congregation be a nigh archaic, dare I postulate noncomprehensive variation of semi Anglo-Saxon seasoning.

All in accordance?

Pamukkedi
01-25-2008, 07:17 AM
Utrecht is not bad, a friend of mine has a Gall&Gall shop there. As an alternative , we could meet in Apenheul monkey Park, but i think, its closed.

Must be because you defected, Exception. Racked with guilt now you try and redeem yourself by being fanatical about the country you could once call your own.

Me, in contrast, I don't give a vliegende scheet wether you call it holland or the netherlands.

Hmmm.... Yeah I don't care if it's called Holland, the Netherlands or the Nederlands, it's just a really great place. I would even vlieg scheet to get there for a month or two.... even in the winter :D

I'm not Dutch by the way, I just stole my the name of my friends cat Rakker and used it for my screen name. That cat was always getting into trouble just like me. You can see from my avatar that I'm about to commit puppycide.

I will singlehandedly host Lightwave community meetings when I get back to the Netherlands.

I will set up workshops for new users. I will set up community meetings for those that want to exchange advanced techniques. This will most likely happen in Rotterdam. There will be places to sleep, places to eat and places to drink :)

Lightwave is underrepresented in our markets in Europe. We can sell this thing well, and it will stand to benefit us all in the long run.

druitre
01-30-2008, 01:27 AM
Nice plans, exception! How's the situation in New Haven regarding lightwave?
Meanwhile, how about setting up a meeting in Utrecht soon-ish... I'm not that familiar with Utrecht, I know there's this big place called de bazaar.... de rommelwinkel? winkel van sinkel? ... Anyway, I know it's big. I guess any place with food and drink and a big table that can be reserved will do.

And then, say: 1st of march. Which is on a saturday.

If enough people respond I'll make reservations.

then in german:
Super!!!

Thank you for appreciating all of my my thoughts of a LW Community in
The Netherlands. But whats the next step? I want to meet you all!

I have an idea: We could meet us at FMX in Stuttgart ( thats in Germany).
They have a great speakers-list for us.
I was there 2 years ago, and it was great.

Or we meet us on target in a town, where Hans Klok is performing,
we are also illusionist - only with other tools.

Lets keep in touch
