well the maya plugin is done by the looks of it and they'll be moving on to 3dsmax and xsi versions next so f prime better get giggy with it and ramp up it's capabilities or indeed NEWTEK should put some effort into making lw9.x or lw 10 full capable in this regard:thumbsup:

and they're pricing is pretty good too $395..so $5 cheaper than f prime...i can see a lot of studio's artists thinking about STAYING in maya and NOT moving to lightwave for fprime renders now that this is aviable In MAYA and WITH mentalray

it's time to ramp up lightwave renderer and f prime to take back the lead!

..a nice bit of doom and gloom for a sunday!:foreheads

It would be more interesting to see a larger scene with radiosity. :)

try their about page:-
http://www.holomatix.com/products/rendition/about/

has a camera model video
plus

okay yeah no multi million poly scenes in their demo's they have online
but it looks around 6 times faster than mentalray in the scenes they have benchmarked.

Looks cool. The renders also look pretty identical which is becoming a problem between FPrime and LW. On top of that some of that other parts of LW dont talk to FPrime.

no...that was the beta version..it's out of beta now and a shipping product so it's no longer a 'work in progress' or vapourware, but actual application that can match fprime but it's for maya and mental ray...

and for the record i don't use maya...i'm a lw and 3dsmax scribbler...but the dominance on fprime as the only option is over..and something i think will impact on maya and lightwave based studios which had setup a maya to lightwave pipeline for rendering with fprime...

are you getting this?

Anyone know if this speeds up motion blur in MR?
