...hi all.
...im still using LW7.5 and am currently watching a training dvd by freedom of teach were you model the Human Anatomy in Maya 6.

Its goin well except the trainer (Tareq Mirza) keeps mentioning 'edge loops'. i have been using 'knife tool' which is ok and 'Bandsaw' but i cant control the amount of ploygons 'bandsaw' splits/divides. i have searched around this forum and i wanted to know.

1. is the nearest tool in LW7.5 'bandsaw' to the 'edge tool'...?

2. is there anyway to control the amount of ploys 'bandsaw' divides?

3. or is it simply time to find the money and upgrade to LW9...?

thanks for any help.

1. If you mean "to pick a loop", then yes is the answer;
2. Where you want it to stop, flip the poly and it won't split into the flipped poly;
3. You get to make that decision. I would encourage a "Yes", though, as 9 is pretty nice. (Understatement of the day.)
