Hi evryone I need your help. I have a file that I will be getting in a few hours. It is a transformer in max9 format. Does any one have max that they would be willing to transfer it into obj for me. It is for the youth group at the church I go to. They want to use it on a design they have going. Thank you.

download the demo version of 3dsmax2008 from autodesk..it's fully functional for 30days once you have opened up the max file go
file>export>export as obj

if that works then great....
if it doesn't work well then back in max select ALL of the object and r hand click and 'convert to editable poly'

if the object is grouped ungroup it [top menu drop down]
then convert to editable poly...
once converted select a sigle object and in the right hand command panel scroll down til you see an attach text button...click that and attach ALL of the objects so you make the whole thing 1 object...

then re export as before...as a obj

If Proton is the "LightWave Evangelist" around here, then cresshead is definitely the "Max Evangelist". Anything to get people to try out max. ;)

Seriously though, since you're going to use the max 2008 demo for this, might as well play around with it some - it really is quite cool. :)
