View Full Version : RTV/uncompressed vs. SpeedHQ, cont'd.

If one is working in SD at this time, and has the Video RAID power/capacity to work in uncompressed, what is the case for working with SpeedHQ, other than it being more useable across third party applications?

I haven't yet heard the definitive case about turning away from the "Compression Sucks" position here.

Or did I just happen to miss that thread?

Keeping in mind that I do only 3D animation generated in LightWave as uncompressed TGA sequences and converted to RTV in Mirage, I'm disappointed in the quality of the imagery I get in SpeedHQ, even for something as simple as a text crawl. Uncompressed is better looking. I'm staying with uncompressed RTV files and uncompressed BGR AVI up to the point of compression for the web.
