Hi !

with lw9.3, i just want to know if it is possible to render an animation directly to an animstrip like this (to use inside my game) :

(the ship just turn along an axe, each frame is 256x256 px. This image is used into my game to anime the ship when player move it.)

(note : this image have copyrights)

you can use "Storyboard" as output type instead of .avi

yup, the final result will be your anim strip. Just try it. you'll see how it works. saves in jpg I believe?!

Sorry 3DGFXStudios, crossed post ! Happy to know that there is a method ! The pdf Lw documentation is very huge for a newbie ! i'll buy the printed version to read it outside the computer screen. Don't know if it is possible. Thanks for your help !

My latest test with the 4X Storyboard :

Here you can see the animation .mov (15 frames) in the layout frame 0 to 15 : http://zigwigwis.com/lw/ship_turn.mov

my settings to configure the 4x storyboard :

And the result :
(i've reduce by 50% the image size and transform it to gif).

- I don't undestand why the sequence is wrong ! (The .mov file is correct, this is the same animation sequence !).
- Is it possible to set a transparent background to the image inside lw ? (change also the file format, as jpg not admit an alpha transparent layer !).

This is not very sympathic to say that ! i've written this just to respect the work of the artist who produce this imagestrip (it is not me). The artist 3d model is more detailled than that. The rendered image was reduced to work into my game. 0scrooge0 please don't flame this topic. I'm newbie and just need some help. i'm an hobbist programmer and my game is freeware !

With Storyboard x4 and my settings, i hope have this (frames) :

This is not the case !

If your see my mov file. You can see that the '01' frame inside the animstrip is not correct (the ship isn't turned) ! Where are my error ? Into the settings (hub08.gif) ?

Need lw guru here !

Finally i've rendered several .psd output files. i compose with photoshop the needed imagestrip :

Note @0scrooge0 : this very crap image with my ugly newbie model isn't copyrighted ;-)

Now i've the workflow to produce gfx for my tiny game. I can start learn lw9 to produce better models.
