why is there this vertical line present?
you can see the differences on both sides when you view it top/down.

i tried it with other procedurals for the displacement and also moved the objects from its 0 position. the same persists.

Nothing to offer other than to say if you've moved it away from the centre position and it's remains the same, as you are using world co-ordinates I'm guessing it has to be based in the object rather than the procedural.
Wouldn't be anything to do with a mirrored triangulation effect away from the cetre line would it?

Yes, I think if you look at it in wireframe mode top down, you might see the triangulation changing its rotation.

yes i see that but... why?

its a simple flat polygon subdivision on for displacement...
and a simple procedural on the y-axis.

nothing earth-shattering.. then why the weird offset?
