The computer's physical specs are fine for Speededit. It will run LW, but the graphics card is going to dissappoint you after awhile - depends on what you do with LW on this system. Basically, for LW, the processor is great... but if you get into polygon heavy stuff the Radeon might give you some headaches... and even then its really up to your patience for things.

The RAM count is great, the HD is 7200rpm, so all good there.

Vista Home Edition... well, if you have no choice. LOL I would immediately turn every fancy feature off, deactivate the UAC (yes, no cancel requesters) and any other tweak to make it as XP as possible. :-)

hey, I should mention that this desktop I bought i have not opened yet. it was a black friday deal. there's nothing available that speed with XP already on it is there? Most likely, am I better off just getting an unlicensed XP version. (SP2 isn't it?)

Also, I dunno if Vista 32bit still needs the -3GB switch but google for that and you should turn up a tweak you can get to allow for any app to access the full 3GB at one time

i run speed edit on vista64 okay...my pc is being upgraded to 8gig ram currently...just waiting for the chips to arrive!

surpose al depends on the length/resolution of the programs your making and how many video tracks/audio track you'll be placing stacked on the timeline to just 'what' spec you'll need....

obviously 320x240 will be much lighter than editing HD!
