Hello,

i've just started working with LW and i was wondering where the preset materials are in Lightwave Layout?

Thanks!

If you have an object in Layout, open the Surface Editor and then hit F8 to open the presets window.

Hm, it seems like i don't have the surface presets?! There's nothing in that folder... Anyway, i asked a friend if he could give me that folder so i'll report back to you if it works.

Fliz,

What version of LightWave are you using?

Also remember, the Surface Preset menu is contextual-- if you don't have the Surface Editor open and in the foreground, the Surface Preset window comes up empty when you open it. Another Exciting User-Friendly Lightwave Feature!

Click the tab which says "workspace", all your presets are up the ladder. Workspace is where you save your own!

You do have to have an object loaded, otherwise there are no textures to refer to.

If you think the presets have been deleted you can also check under Hard_Drive\Applications\Newtek\LightWave 3D 9.3\Programs\Presets\Surface Editor\Surface Preset to see which folders are there. If you have a older version installed you can also copy the presets folder to replace the empty one since they are the same.
