View Full Version : Simple skin problem

hello.
I'm having a problem with lightwave simple skin, maybe you can help me.
Its not working at all, the epidermal and subdermal parameters aren't producing any effect on the image.

If i set epidermis visibility to 0% and subdermis to 100%, this is what i get: http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/6...percentmm7.jpg, the very same image as above.
If i set subdermis visibility to 0% and epidermis to 100%, this is what i get: http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/1...percentsm8.jpg, the very same image as above.
I am not new to subsurface scattering, i used it on 3d max, but i am new to lightwave, maybe i am forgetting to enable something somewhere.

do you have "ray trace transparency" turned on in render globals?

Try using the perspective camera as well

Also I guess you're using the latest version of lightwave (9.3) but if you're using 9.2 then you may need to turn on "double sided" in the surface properties.
I can't remember when that changed but you used to need to specify "double sided" for simple skin to work.

Thanks to everyone that replied, thanks to you i fixed the problem.
I enabled "ray trace transparency" and "double sided", now everything is working fine.
