View Full Version : Captured Audio Sync Problem

Hi Guys,

My captured video files through firewire DV always carries an audio offset of
6 - 12 frames earlier than the video.

I have been using VT4 for about a year and I am not quite sure this has always been the case but it certainly has been in the last 3 months.

I don't know if VT4 is responsible for this (as well as having trouble recognizing "DV In" when connected to it especially so with Canon XHA1) or if it's a 1394 hardware (on-board Tyan Mobo) but it is annoying especially as it changes in offset from time to time.

Has anybody else had experiences of firewire DV Audio offset with or without VT4?

Many thanks,:)

Maz

FW capture through VT[4] needs to be set for Type-1 to prevent the A/V sync issue.

Hi Eugene, and thanks for your answer.

That is a good point but since I capture from Main In, VT automatically chooses the settings for me.

I have no way to tell if it is doing the right thing unless of course I capture from Program Out and set it to DV-Type1 manually.

Is there a reason in your opinion why VT should set the DV-In wrongly?

Thanks,

Maz

No, it's not choosing automatically.

It's a preference you need to change in the preferences, that's all.

It's called "Default DV Download format".

Gosh, why do I feel like a fool in circumstances like this?

What would we do without a VT community?!!!!!

Thanks again Eugene
