Good!

yeah it looks great, the metal effect is really good. One thing if i'm picky is that the plastic could reflect a little more light. Otherwise great.

Very good! Nice metal texture. It's the little details that add up to the realism like the slightly flat tip to the lead ...

Very, very nice. I've lost lots of blood playing around with those things.

That is really nice. Did you render it with regular radiosity? HDR? I might agree that the plastic could use a little more specular highlight or something as long as it's subtle.

very realistic! I like the radial highlight on that circle.

Question:

The anisotropic reflection on the tightening screw, did you do that with a very small radial bump texture, or did you use the BRDF shader plugin and tweak that? I've used both techniques before and just wanted to get your input. Thanks, and a very good photorealistic look you've accomplished.

thanks, everyone.

hrgiger - i used a hdri image probe with background radiosity. (full monte carlo just took too long to render)

sasapp - i acutally did both :) i found that the combination of the two worked the best.

at some point i might increase the specular on the plastic, when my computer has no other renders to be doing, but for now no time for more day-long renders, sadly :/

People think it would be really handy to make circles with.
