Is there any way to have a procedural texture show through a cast shadow?
The texture is completely obliterated in this example. Thanks.

(or is this a bug? In which case I will post on the UB board.)

I think more information about this scene would help. Basically if your shadow is set to black - the default - it can appear to be opaque. If you either a) add some fill light to the area or b) back off the shadow color toward gray you will start to see it appear less opaque. If either of those solutions don't do it then you might have something else going on and more information about the scene would be needed.

Is there such a setting? Shadow opacity? I've looked everywhere but don't see anything like that. I will try using non-black and see if that solves it.

That's basically what I meant, turning the shadow color to more of a grey.
