View Full Version : Exporting .x (directx) format

I've downloaded a plug-in from dstorm (http://www.dstorm.co.jp/english/plugin/object.htm) to export an animation to the .x format. Unfortunately, when I export animations, LightWave crashes (though, when I don't choose an option to export animation (just an object), it works fine).
Does anyone know what the problem could be? Perhaps someone has encountered the same problem?
Thanks in advance.

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to? Is it for a game engine or something? I couldn't even name a program that uses .x files.

But I'll take a stab anyway. The plugin says it exports "pre-calculated IK motions". Do you have IK set up? Is there any chance you're past some sort of file size limit?

Yes, I need that file format for a game.
Well, I tried exporting an animation with IK (character legs and arms in particular). Then I tried exporting simple bone animations (with little bones set up and one or two moving). Same result (or should I say, no result)..

I'm not sure, but I really doubt that the size exceeds the limit (IF there is a limit)..
So, have you tried it out?
