View Full Version : Soft selection for Modify->Point Normal Move

Is there any kind of command or plugin for modeler that would act as Modify->Point Normal Move but would have all soft selection tools like other modeler native tools (move, scale etc..... ) ? Currently Point Normal Move doesn't have that.

By Soft Selection do you mean the various fall off modes including weightmap?

Exactly why all the tools should have standard functions. For example you should be able to use the move scale and rotate tools to modify geometry - just like you can with the multishift tool which includes a point normal type setting- along with all of the fall off options.

One current workaround is to create a morph with the geometry moved on the point normal. Then use the airbrush tool to apply it to the base object with a radial fall off. I seem to remember that you can apply a morph with the weightmap - that can be created with similar fall of types - but the solution eludes me now. In the mean time you can at least do a Point Normal Move - of sorts - with a Point Radial Falloff - of sorts using this workaround.
