I confuzzled again. It is my understanding that I can download a codec pack from Newtek that will install the SpeedHQ codec. It's also my understanding that Mirage will WRITE SpeedHQ files, but that VT4 can only READ SpeedHQ files. Do I understand this correctly?

I want to render out SD with alpha video files from Mirage and use them in VT Edit. I currently use RTV files for that, but they are very large files. Am I correct that with the codec pack I can render out SpeedHQ files with alpha from Mirage and layer them in VT4 with alpha? From VT4 I'll be rendering a standard SD AVI file.

Thanks,

TW

Well heck. I can place the SpeedHQ files in the VT Edit timeline but it won't render out anything with alpha, including an RTV. I guess it doesn't know how to interpret the SpeedHQ alpha. I need that because I place a lot of fades between clips, render that out and then put the result in an overlay layer.
