View Full Version : Light through holey cheese?

Hi does anyone know if it's possible in LW to make an SSS 'surface' that appears to have volume.
I use the holey cheese example because, if you shone a strong light behind some holey cheese, where the holes are, more light would come through as its not being absorbed by the cheese.
I assumed the new materials such as sigma or simple skin would work like this, but apparently not. the 'air' bubbles appear darker.

If anyone knows how and if this is possible, (and can tell me) I'd much appreciate it.

Seems like a reasonable request. Must be a workaround.
'Fraid I (and the 20 others that have looked at this thread so far) can't help tho :(

I'm getting the same result .. air bubbles go darker.
Been trying for a good hour to get a different result but nothing yet. Might try a different approach.. Longest I've been able to spend playing with Sigma2. Nice shader :D
It's taught me a lot about how to make digital cheese, too.
