Hello dear friends,
i am lazy and not really interested in building my own characters and rigs. So can anybody tell me where i can buy fully rigged lightwave characters. I looked everywhere but i just can't find them. Turbosquid can't help me. So can't Flay.
Anyone?

I've seen a few over the years, mostly monsters and other creatures, but have no idea where.
I think Zygote, who make models for pros might still have some humans, and do custom modeling, but are extremely expensive.

I'd have to say though that "lazy" and LightWave is not a particularly good combination for someone hoping to get something good out of it. ;)

Depends what sort of characters you want. I may be able to help you out given a bit more info. I have a basic cartoon girl character fully rigged that I made for a potential client a while back. Its nothing fancy but certainly suitable to practice some animation on.
Its using IK for the legs and FK for the arms, head, neck and torso, the eye rotation is controlled by a null. There are morphs for blinking and a couple of others.
Again it depends what your after.

Maestro comes with both a male and female generic human figure, that are set up with with both the body skeletons and facial morphs. The rig is very comprehensive, yet easy to use.

While the provided characters are not something I'd try to submit to CGtalk's "expose", they're decent, with good poly flow, and would be a good starting point to customize into whatever humanoid character you're interested in.

You can check it out for free here:

Back a long time ago I did some of my own, but time and skill seem to have left me using others models. Ya I could get better if I put in more time, but life is what it is and this is a part time thing. Daz, Poser and Renderosity are a good source, but need to be converted over. Daz Studio and Poser are programs where you pose and animate things, but have no real modeling functionality. There are a bunch of people at Daz and Renderosity who make a living building models for the programs at a really low price. There are a bunch of tutorials on converting over models. The rigging is a little on the basic side, but most models tend to come with a ton of morphs. Even if it's not quite what you want, it's a good place to start and work from. Not building your own models does limit the kinds of jobs you can do and does impose some limits.

Why can't turbosquid help?

Slim pickens, sure, but there are some decent usable rigs on there made in LW.

Will be updating it here in the near future when I figure out a few more things.
