This is my first post as a forum member and lightwave student =D

A few weeks in to my first animation class and we're already learning to make people, I went on vacation last week and missed some important stuff in class. I've pretty much made up for it and now I'd like to go a little beyond whats required.

Basically I'm wondering about how I should put clothes on a character. I made a girl and some clothes on different layers and don't know if i should apply bones to all of it then apply cloth dynamics or what.

I can provide some screenshots if that would help. Thanks!

Parent the cloths to the girl, then 'Use bones from' the girl, then apply clothfx to that. A good preset is cotton (thin), but turn down the stretch limit to 5% or so.

Welcome.

Posting some images would be a good idea. Each type of clothing will have it's own treatment. Some type of clothing might best replace part of the geometry such as tights.
