Hi all,

Not a VT question - sorry. But a video related question, so ya'll are experts.

There are about 1001 DVD duplication programs available on download.com
I'm looking to take dual layer DVDs and copy just the main title at full resolution and put it on a standard 4.7g DVD-R.

I've tried a few with limited success. I'm just looking for a recommendation.

I know this is a debated issue - the legalities of this. I'm backing up purchased DVDs for our kid's ministry. :)

thanks.

DVD Shrink (You had it in your title ;) )

Awesome free, no strings attached program.

It will scan your DVD and let you copy the whole thing or just the sections you want. It will auto set the new bitrates to fit on a single sided disk and then you can change them of you like.

It can burn a DVD when done, create a VOB folder or create an iso of the disk.

If you have any questions let me know. I went on a 2 month DVD Shrink marathon at work not long ago backing up hundreds of DVDs to hard drive for safety.

I had PLENTY of time to poke around under the hood.

Not sure about dual layer, but Xilisoft DVD Ripper Platinum works very well

I'm gonna cast my vote for DVD shrink. I used it quite a bit when I traveled a lot.
