hi,i'm new to lightwave (i come from 3DS), and the first job i have to do is get some windows to explode.i got two problems right now:
first, i set the gravity of my objects to -9,81 but my objects seem to be on the moon, they take time to fall (i'll post a video soon). what is the problem with the gravity?please someone help me,i want this job and if i don't manage to finish this work i'll be fired.
second, how do i beak a window?i mean,i found a plugin called C4 to break an object into parts, and put them in layers automatically but i cant manage to have it working on lightwave 9,2??

thank in advance

Hi,

I think that C4 doesn't work on 9.2 or 9.3. Sad :(

If you post a capture screen of your settings, or a sample scene if you can, I think it would be easier to help you :)

Hi,

You forgot your add box object! :) Anyhow I made one myself.

Just for curiosity I added a Null object, and positioned on the same spot of your box, and added the Motion Modifier Gravity to it. It falls EXACTLY at the same velocity of your box. So gravity is calculated correctly.

So if you want that your boxes fall faster, you need to add them velocity, on the Force Tab of the HardFX. For example -10m on the Y axis.

Another way it is increase its weight and reduce the Resistance. BUT the resistance it is really the medium where your objects are falling, so if you reduce it so much it would be like if they are falling in the vacuum instead of air. BTW the manual recommends a 0.14 setting for a normal atmosphere.

Just in case you want to try another dynamics plugin (ODE Dynamics) :
Windows: http://www.kevinmacphail.com/
MAC UB: http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67073&highlight=ODE

And I attached the version i made and one made with ODE :) So you can play with them! :)

ps: oh and what is "add box object".

I meant that you didn't posted your box1.lwo object, so when I opened your scene it asked for it becuase was not able to find it :)

LightWave DO NOT incorporate the objects on the scene file! :)
