So i'm rigging a character, I spend a few hours on it, saving the scene in the process... I reset all my bone rotations and everything works all right when I move the joins around. I close the scene, re open it and suddenly all my work is messed up. The character basically looks like some polygon explosion... What happened ? And why did it happen after i closed the scene and re opened it ? Example Image attached.

Check bone rest position/rotation in bone proporties.

Rest your bones before you save, and keyframe them at 0 as well.

Easy fix: Select all the bones and hit the r key to REST them.

I like this new word, lightwaveism, and its lightwaveistic consequences.

How about mayism, maxism od even xsism? :) :lwicon:

Yea, there are mayisms as well. Usually in the "doh ! i need to write an expression to do that ???" category. Also very fun when you are on a tight deadline.

Yea, it is a lightwaveism - whenever I want to do something to a rig I'm not sure about, I save a new scene version, do it, close the scene and re-open it to test.

If your scene reproduces it every time, could you post it for us to have a look at?
